Constructing Disability Course Learning Objectives
- Explain and analyze how the idea of disability is socially constructed and how that construction evolved over time.
- Understand the issues of disabilities among immigrant communities from cultural and religious perspectives.
- Use personal narratives, primary sources, and case studies as a means for understanding attitudes toward and the struggles of individuals and communities dealing with the issue of disability.
- Apply Inclusive Design theory and principles to create digital and physical products, services, environments, and experiences for the fullest range of human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender, age, and other forms of human difference.
- Understand the importance of and utilize internet and cyber space from a variety of interdisciplinary approaches.
- Demonstrate understanding of one issue (disability) from a variety of interdisciplinary approaches.
